How often do grease separators need to be emptied?
When emptying the separator system and conducting the disposal of its contents, the standards DIN EN 1825-2 and DIN 4040-100, as well as the applicable waste legislation, must be observed. The disposal intervals must be set so that the storage capacity of the sludge trap (half the sludge trap volume) and the separator (grease collection chamber) is not exceeded. The sludge trap and separator must be completely emptied and cleaned at least once a month. The separator systems must subsequently be refilled with water that complies with local discharge regulations.

Waste disposal tailored to your needs with SonicControl
Where grease accumulation is low, an increasing number of local authorities are therefore moving towards allowing operators to carry out waste disposal on an as-needed basis and extending disposal intervals in such cases. However, the operator must provide proof of this themselves. SonicControl enables this proof through automatic measurement of the grease layer thickness.
SonicControl is an automatic layer thickness measuring device with an ultrasonic sensor. This enables precise monitoring and automatic reporting of the layer thickness and temperature in a grease separator. Operators can thus demonstrate low grease accumulation at any time and thereby save on disposal costs.
