When should each component be installed?
One of the key considerations concerns the installation location. Backflow prevention systems can be installed either inside or outside the building. Wherever possible, systems for discharging rainwater should always be installed outside the building.
There are three types of installation, each with its own advantages that make it particularly suitable for different construction projects:

Installation outside in the chamber
Advantages of outdoor installation:
- Suitable for new builds and refurbishments
- Easy inspection and maintenance
- Valuable living or usable space is retained
- No system noise inside the building
- No odour nuisance or soiling inside the building
- No risk of water damage in the building due to leaks in system components

Exposed installation within the building
Installation indoors also offers advantages:
- Ideal for refurbishment & boundary development
- Easy inspection and maintenance
- Early detection of potential faults
The cost-effective, clean and standard-compliant solution for the retrofitting of backflow prevention units – ideal for the renovation of older buildings at risk of backflow.
