What needs to be checked during commissioning?

Commissioning must be carried out by a competent skilled person and must be recorded in writing. Commissioning requires a test run with water over at least two operating cycles. Dry running must be avoided during the test run.

 

The following must be checked before, during and after this test run: 

  1. The electrical protection of the sewage lifting unit in accordance with IEC standards or local regulations
  2. The direction of rotation of the motor  
  3. The valves (operation, open position, tightness)  
  4. The circuit and setting of the switching levels in the collection tank, unless fixed by the manufacturer  
  5. The tightness of the system, fittings and pipes
  6. Operating voltage and frequency  
  7. Function of the backflow preventer  
  8. Fault signalling device  
  9. Fixing of the pressure pipe
  10. Motor protection switch; test by briefly unscrewing individual fuses (two-phase operation)  
  11. Oil level (if an oil chamber is present)  
  12. Indicator lights, gauges and meters m) Function of any hand pump installed
