Tips for choosing a location

Is the planned location suitable for the installation or setup of a separator system? You can check this by asking the following questions.

Freestanding installation

Before installing a freestanding separator unit, check the following conditions:

  • Is the intended installation site frost-free?
  • Does the planned installation site have a level, load-bearing floor (ceiling load)?
  • Is the room well equipped for aeration and ventilation? Where possible, the installation site should not be located in unventilated rooms or in traffic or storage areas. To avoid odour nuisance, the unit should not be installed near living areas and, in particular, near windows or ventilation openings.
  • Is there a water connection available for filling and Cleaning the separator system?
  • Is there access to the necessary electrical installation?

Underground installation

Before excavating the foundation pit, check whether the planned installation site meets the requirements for a separator system by considering the following questions and tips:

  • Is the planned area free of utility lines and cables?
  • Can access for maintenance, inspection and disposal be guaranteed at all times?
  • Can an inspection chamber be installed in front of the separator, e.g. to facilitate the user-friendly insertion of bubbles during a leak test?
  • Is the installation site located outside the traffic area? Will the subsequent use of the area be unaffected by the separator system?
  • Is the installation site located near the point where the wastewater is generated?
  • Are the systems easily accessible to disposal vehicles? Special operating conditions or structural constraints may necessitate a location further away from the points where the wastewater is generated.
  • Is the separator system protected against frost damage?
  • Are all parts requiring regular maintenance easily accessible at all times?
  • Where necessary, covers for separator systems must be supported in such a way that the load on the separator does not exceed its load-bearing capacity. Can this be guaranteed?
  • Is there a water connection available for filling and Cleaning the separator system?
  • Please note: For load class D up to 40 t, a load distribution plate on site is required. You can obtain the relevant reinforcement plans from us.
