Pumping stations

for wastewater

If drainage objects are located below the backwater level, the wastewater must be lifted above the backwater level. Unlike lifting stations, pumping stations score points for being installed outside the building, which has many advantages.

Ban from premises for causing trouble

Area of application for pumping stations

Lifting stations are installed in the building. This means that they require space there. If there is no installation space available, then a pumping station is the solution: it can be installed in a house connection shaft in the ground outside the building. Even if rainwater needs to be drained separately outdoors, a pumping station can provide a solution. This applies, for example, to the drainage of larger open spaces. There is a wide variety of models available: there are pumping stations for sewage with or without faecal matter, as single or twin pump stations with different performance ranges – from small pumps for private homes to powerful pumps for commercial use.

For wet installation the pumping station is equipped with a large, easily accessible collecting tank, permitting fast and low-cost pump maintenance. In comparison with wet installation, dry installation offers mainly hygienic advantages for maintenance and repair, since the pumping station has a separate collecting chamber. In addition, pumps do not require ATEX approval for dry installation.

Advantageous with a system

KESSEL pumping stations

More space

A pumping station will be installed outside the building. This frees up valuable floor space that would otherwise have been taken up by a lifting station.

Less noise

Installing the unit outside the building has another advantage: there is no disruptive pump noise inside the property.

High level of convenience during installation and maintenance

The weight of the shaft components is low, the connection technology is simple, and the degree of prefabrication is high. The internal diameter of the shaft is one metre, making it easily accessible and equipped with access steps in accordance with the standard and the requirements of the employers' liability insurance association.

KESSEL modular system

Most components of KESSEL pumping stations – such as tanks, pumps and engineering chambers – are designed as a flexible modular system.
