The history of the House of Isautier begins during the reign of King Louis Philippe I. Louis and Charles Isautier left the French mainland and set off across the world's oceans - their destination was the island of La Réunion in the Indian Ocean. There they found not only fertile land, but also a rich supply of sugar cane. Fascinated by the possibilities, they founded a rum distillery in 1845, which still bears their name today. Isautier is not only the oldest company on La Réunion, but also the oldest rum distillery on the island. The knowledge of rum production has been passed down in the family for six generations. Over the course of almost 200 years, an impressive history has developed - characterised by tradition, passion and constant progress. The close connection to the island has always been an important part of Isautier's identity. The same pioneering spirit is still at work today as it was then: with new ideas, modern technologies and investments, the history of rum from La Réunion is being continued in the 21st century. A special event was the 175th anniversary in 2020 - a proud milestone for the traditional family business. Isautier has opted for our reliable Aquapump Small and Minilift L lifting units for the drainage of the company's own museum, La Saga du Rhum, which offers visitors an insight into this special history. We are delighted to be part of this impressive history with our products - where tradition and innovation meet.
