Waterproofing layer for drains in a bituminous membrane

Standard-compliant waterproofing layer in buildings using bitumen/polymer coatings

‘Bituminous membrane’ refers to a construction method in which the floor slab and external walls of a building are provided with a waterproofing layer against water ingress using bituminous or synthetic membranes, or a thick bituminous coating. This construction method is governed by the DIN 18533 standard. Floor drains installed in parts of buildings with a bituminous membrane that are in contact with the ground must be covered with a waterproofing sheet.
