backwater protection

to light liquid separator

When is a backflow preventer required?

If, in individual cases, the required head above the backwater level cannot be maintained, and if the calm water level is below the backwater level, the separator must be protected against backwater from the sewer in the direction of flow downstream of the separator system.

Installation

(copy 1)

If the inflow can be interrupted, the separator may be fitted with a double non-return valve. This applies, for example, to use in covered washing areas.

(copy 2)

If the inflow cannot be stopped, the separator must be fitted with a lifting station or a hybrid lifting station. This applies, for example, to uncovered washing areas: in such cases, the drain point is essential and the water must be pumped out.
