Maintenance of drainage systems

Cleaning and maintenance instructions

How to maintain drainage systems properly

Regular maintenance, inspection and cleaning are also essential for the smooth operation of drainage systems. DIN 1986-3 sets out all the key measures for self-inspection, maintenance and inspection of floor drains.

Particularly in the case of floor drains and channels with fire protection elements, it is important to regularly check that the odour trap is correctly seated and that the water seal is present. The reason for this is that the water seal is crucial for the correct functioning of the fire protection element.
